Spritz cookies

This is my maiden attempt at making cookies and my maiden attempt blogging it. I had got a cookie maker so that my mom could use it to make idiappam (rice sevai). I just wanted to try making cookies so I found a basic cookie recipe.

Ingredients:
2 cups all purpose flour
2/3 cups sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter (i will try to find a lower fat recipe :))
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 tsp almond extract
2 tbsp milk
2/3 tsp baking powder

Melt the butter in the microwave and mix the sugar in it. Then add the baking powder, egg, milk, vanilla and almond extracts and beat well. Slowly add the flour and beat. The dough should be of peanut butter consistency. Preheat oven to 375 F. Fill the cookie maker with the cookie dough. Choose the disc that you want. Press the cookies onto an ungreased cookie sheet (the dough needs to stick to the sheet for you to be able to form the cookie... non stick cookie sheets wont work either). The cookie dough should stick to the sheet but should not stick to the cookie press disc. If you find the dough sticking to the disc spray some PAM or apply some oil to the disc.

Bake for about 12 min. Remove from oven and immediately transfer the cookies to a cooling rack. They will be ready to eat in about 10 min. Store in an air tight box.
